Taking a day off …

Well, I could have gone to school today. It would have been really boring, what with pretty much the entire Senior Class going snow tubing (more on that later), and I was really tired. So, instead, I slept in for four extra hours—sleep I really needed—and had a nice leisurely morning. As I write this, I’m sitting in my favourite coffee shop, just after having eaten a sandwich from the shop next door.(Actually, this isn’t being posted until a while after having eaten lunch, but I wrote it while sitting there.) Also, I didn’t have to get up at an unnatural hour for school. By the way, natural hours for waking are hereby being defined as all hours after when sunlight appears in the sky during the winter, and no earlier than 8h00 during the summer.

As for that whole snowtubing thing. The Senior Class has events throughout the year, and today we were going snowtubing. The downside to this: last year was the first year no one had to go to the hospital. This year apparently did not disappoint. I was chatting with a friend who told me that while one kid was being looked over by paramedics, another lost an eyebrow, and a third might have a concussion. Unsurprisingly, there was a lot of blood. I was suddenly glad to not have gone today, and really did enjoy my day off more.
